Salone del Mobile 2025: Human-Centered Design and the Power of Communication

This week, Milan once again becomes the global capital of design with the 2025 edition of the Salone del Mobile—one of the most anticipated events for designers, architects, companies, and international brands.
This year’s theme, “Thought for Humans,” resonates deeply with us. Just like design, every project, piece of content, and communication strategy we develop is created with one goal in mind: to respond to real human needs.

Design as a Response to Human Needs

The message behind “Thought for Humans” is clear: design is not just about aesthetics—it’s an empathetic response to the desires and challenges of modern life.
And it comes at a time when human needs—from quality living spaces to environmental responsibility—are becoming increasingly complex and urgent.
Salone 2025 highlights how the furniture and interior design industry is responding with tangible solutions that combine technological innovation, eco-conscious materials, and designs built to last.

Designing without considering environmental impact is no longer an option—sustainability has become an essential part of the language of contemporary design.
We see it in the use of modular components that adapt to spaces and evolve with changing needs, in sculptural forms that turn furniture into sensory experiences, and in the rise of invisible technology, which is increasingly shaping the future of design.

A striking example is Google’s installation “Making the Invisible Visible,” which explores how technology can seamlessly merge with its surroundings, becoming an integral part of the space without dominating it visually. Through the refined use of sound, light, and subtle interactions, the project illustrates how innovation can enhance everyday wellbeing in a discreet and non-invasive way. The installation transforms intangible concepts like light and energy into tangible, sensory experiences, shaping environments entirely sculpted by light.
This approach demonstrates how invisible technology can enrich human interaction with space, making energy perceptible as a design element.
It offers a vision of the future in which form and substance are no longer defined by physical matter, but by the relationship between perception and energy.

Similarly, the installation “Portanuova Vertical Connection” explores the relationship between urban greenery and the city of the future, combining architecture with artificial intelligence.
It presents a new way of experiencing urban spaces, using technology to foster connections between environments and people, with a focus on fluidity, inclusivity, and aesthetic harmony.
This project shows how technology can be discreetly integrated to create personalized, dynamic, and multisensory experiences.

Through these initiatives, Salone del Mobile 2025 demonstrates how invisible technology simplifies interaction without overwhelming it, making everyday environments more fluid, intuitive, and human—striking a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Another example of invisible technology applied to design is “Hyper Portal” by glo™, an immersive installation that explores the boundary between the physical and the digital through light, sound, and reflective surfaces. The project transforms space into a multisensory experience, where technological innovation is seamlessly integrated into the environment, never visually overpowering it.
Through a sophisticated use of lighting and interaction, “Hyper Portal” demonstrates how technology can be perceived not as a presence, but as an atmosphere—shaping emotions and spatial perception in a subtle yet profound way. It’s a vision that perfectly aligns with the direction set by Salone del Mobile 2025: technology that steps back to make room for experience.

Another growing direction in contemporary design is the use of 3D technology. Many companies are already adopting interactive 3D configurators, which allow users to explore products, materials, and finishes in an immersive and personalized way.
In addition to advancing the digitalization of the product offering, these tools significantly enhance the user experience, making the decision-making process more intuitive, engaging, and even enjoyable. It’s an effective way to bring people closer to design, helping them make more informed choices aligned with their tastes and needs.

Communication and Design: A Strategic Connection

The Salone reminds us that behind every object, there’s a thought. And if that thought isn’t communicated, it risks going unnoticed.
Our role is to amplify the voice of brands that choose to invest in sustainability, research, and emotional intelligence—the ability to design not only for functional needs but also for emotional ones.
It means creating products that speak to people, that evoke feelings, and that foster authentic connections. This is a vision of design and communication where empathy, attentiveness, and emotional awareness are as strategic as technical innovation.

To communicate a design product is to convey its true value: the attention to detail, the ethical selection of materials, the commitment to reducing environmental impact, and above all, the ability to interpret people’s desires.
It’s a task that requires strategy, creativity, and a deep understanding of contemporary trends.
Through digital campaigns, visual storytelling, and emotionally engaging content, we help our clients transform design and style into meaningful experiences, build narratives that reflect their values, and position themselves as truly innovative and responsible brands.

An Event That Inspires Culture and Connection

The Salone del Mobile is much more than a trade fair—it’s a space for vision, a crossroads where creativity, technology, and culture converge to imagine new ways of living and inhabiting the world.
For those of us working in communication, it’s an endless source of inspiration. It pushes us to capture the soul of each project and to imagine how to enhance it through words, visuals, and strategies that convey its deeper meaning.
In a world where every design choice is a statement of intent, communication has the responsibility to make that message clear, authentic, and consistent.

That’s why we stand alongside brands that want to make a difference—helping them give voice and visibility to the true value they bring to life.
